THE OOH!
Originally opened in 1895, the Orillia Opera House is a historic cultural landmark that has been at the heart of the community for generations. As a professional venue for theatre, music, and live performance, it has brought people together through shared artistic experiences and cultural celebration.
In 1915, a devastating fire broke out and destroyed much of the interior of the building. Despite limited resources due to the World War, Orillians banded together to reopen the facility; knowing a cultural hub was vital for the town’s wellbeing.
Today, the Opera House continues to serve as a gathering place for performers, audiences, and community members. Preserving this historic space ensures that future generations can continue to experience the magic of live performance.
Historic buildings require ongoing care: financially, culturally, and socially.
Time has taken its toll on the facility’s original auditorium windows and walls.
Despite being a historic landmark for Orillia, funding remains limited and protecting the venue with urgency is seen as optional, rather than essential.
Our mission is to preserve, restore, and celebrate the Orillia Opera House as a vibrant home for the performing arts.
The brand voice of Orillia Opera House should be confident, inspiring, and welcoming. The tone should celebrate the arts while encouraging community involvement and support. The brand must communicate a sense of heritage, cultural pride, and optimism for the future.

About the work
We want our voice to feel friendly, inclusive, and inviting while also conveying credibility and cultural authority. Our messaging should inspire audiences to feel emotionally connected to the Opera House and motivated to support its preservation and growth.
During this campaign, I was reminded of just how much of an impact art has, and how little it is recognized.
It was a pleasure to work with the team at the Orillia Opera House.
